Nicknamed the "Grey Ghost," this 19th-century breed was designed as an all-purpose hunting, pointing, and retrieving gundog. In the field, it moves with careful stealth, while at home, it is a lively and affectionate companion. The Weimaraner can be reserved with strangers but is known for its boundless energy, sometimes making it too boisterous for small children. With its elegant build, striking coat, and graceful movement, it remains popular both as a working dog and a pet. However, it has remarkable stamina and requires an owner who can keep up with its activity level. The breed comes in both long-haired and short-haired varieties.
