The Taiwan Dog, formerly called the Formosan Mountain Dog, remains a rare breed even in its homeland. It is believed to have descended from semi-wild hunting dogs that once roamed Taiwan’s interior. Intelligent and loyal, it makes a great family pet, but its strong hunting instincts require careful management.
