Although naturally active, the Sussex Spaniel can adapt to smaller living spaces as long as it receives adequate exercise. Unlike most gundogs, it has a distinctive tendency to bark, or “give tongue,” while working—a trait usually discouraged in hunting breeds. Its unique rolling gait adds to its charm.
