Believed to have descended from dogs brought to the Iberian Peninsula by the Celts around 500 BCE, the Spanish Greyhound is a swift hunter. Once exclusively owned by royalty, it later gained widespread popularity for coursing and racing. Spanish Greyhounds are relatively easy to train as house pets but have high exercise needs. The breed comes in two coat types: smooth-haired and wire-haired.
