The Småland Hound, or Swedish Hound, is believed to date back to the 16th century and takes its name from the dense forests of Småland in southern Sweden, where it was traditionally used to hunt fox and hare. This breed has a distinct black coat with tan markings similar to those of a Rottweiler.
