The New Zealand Huntaway does not conform to a breed standard and is unrecognized by any kennel club due to its mixed breeding, which might include German Shepherd Dog (see p.35), Border Collie, and Rottweiler. Originating in New Zealand as a working sheepdog, it excels in its role and is also becoming increasingly popular as a house pet.
