Originally bred in Tibet as a watchdog for temples and monasteries, the Lhasa Apso was introduced to Europe via India in the 1920s. This small yet hardy breed enjoys long walks and is surprisingly resilient. Its long, flowing coat requires care but is not overly difficult to maintain. While affectionate, the Lhasa Apso has a stubborn streak.
