The Modder Rhu, or Red Dog of Ireland, was originally bred for hunting and remains an efficient working dog, though today it is more commonly kept as a striking and lively companion. Slow to mature, it requires firm training from an early age. Its mischievous nature and tendency to get into trouble as a youngster can test an owner's patience, but its sociable personality and enthusiasm for life make the effort worthwhile. This breed doesn’t just tolerate other dogs and children—it actively seeks them out for play.
