One of three breeds of Great Anglo-French pack-hunting dogs developed in the early 19th century, this hound is the result of crossing the English Foxhound with the large French scent hound known as the Billy. Though trainable and good-natured, this breed is driven by its hunting instincts and is far too energetic to thrive as a household pet.
