Germany was once home to many types of hunting dogs known as "brackes." Today, the German Hound, or Deutsche Bracke, is one of the few that remain. Created by combining several bracke varieties, this breed is still primarily used for hunting. Though good-natured, the German Hound does not easily adapt to indoor living.
