One of France’s most popular hounds, the French Tricolour Hound was developed by crossing the Poitevin and Billy to create a native pack hound with minimal English Foxhound influence—though it does carry traces of the Great Anglo-French Tricolour Hound. Today, these strong and well-muscled dogs are primarily used for hunting deer and wild boar in packs.
