In the early 20th century, the Westphalian Dachsbracke, a small, short-legged hound from Germany, was introduced to Sweden. It quickly gained popularity as a game tracker, and by the 1940s, Swedish breeders had developed their own version: the Drever. Due to its strong hunting instincts, this breed is best suited as a sporting dog.
