The Chow Chow has been present in China for around 2,000 years, historically used for guarding, hunting, and even as a source of meat and fur. With its sturdy build, distinctive scowling face, and rare blue-black tongue, no other breed looks quite like it. Independent and sometimes stubborn, the Chow Chow requires firm training and early socialization. It comes in two coat types: rough and smooth.
