Beneath the lamb-like appearance of the Bedlington Terrier lies a true terrier spirit. Originally bred from the Whippet and other terriers to hunt hares and rabbits, this breed possesses both great speed and a more tolerant temperament than many terriers. Now primarily kept as a companion, it needs sufficient mental and physical stimulation to prevent behavioral issues. When properly exercised, the Bedlington Terrier is affectionate and full of energy. It also has a distinctive show clip.
