Developed in the late 19th century from crosses between the Yorkshire Terrier and the Australian Terrier, the Australian Silky Terrier is a true terrier at heart. It has a strong digging instinct and a natural urge to chase, which may pose a risk to small pets. Regular grooming is necessary to keep its fine, silky coat tangle-free.
