Rare even in its native southwest France, the Ariege Pointing Dog or Braque de l’Ariège is used for pointing, retrieving, and some tracking. Almost exclusively owned by hunters, this enthusiastic breed requires patient training to temper its boundless energy and prevent it from becoming overly excitable or destructive. Without sufficient mental and physical stimulation, it can become difficult to manage.
